Samsung has launched the new J3 Orbit at a dirt cheap price of just $49.99 with Total Wireless. Surely, it is not a device aimed at power users with a lot of intense task and multitasking abilities. This phone is intended for people who need a solid stable performing device with decent power to handle normal day to day activities. More likely this will appeal to users who are first time users of a smartphone or have a second device just to attend calls and texts with light web browsing and social media capabilities. The battery on this device is impressive which makes it a great secondary device which you can carry on a long day out of your home without worrying about your phone dying midway through the day.
Features and Specs
The Samsung Galaxy J3 Orbit has a 5 inch HD Display with a 1280×720 pixels resolution at a pixel density of 294 PPI that is good enough at this price point. Nothing too crazy with infinity display or notches but decently bright and sharp for most use cases. Under the hood, it is powered by Exynos 7 processor that is a capable processor to handle day to days with internet surfing and GPS to find your way around. For a sub $50 device it has plenty of features to help in your daily chores and provide entertainment too like listening to music or watching videos.
The 5-inch display is pretty decent and produces great colors for the price. It is coupled with 2GB RAM to help you run through your apps and make it easier to use two or more apps at one time. You must keep your expectations realistic to the price, which makes it a great option as a secondary device or a device for people with limited usage. It runs on Android Oreo out of the box with Samsung’s own customization on top to help the users have a better experience using the device.
The cameras on this device are surprisingly good enough especially when you take into account the $50 price tag. I am tempted to say it has one of the better cameras in this price range for a device that is not marketed to be a top end camera phone in any case. The rear camera is an 8MP f/1.9 sensor that allows for Full HD 1080p video recording at 30 fps. The front camera, on the other hand, is a 5MP f/2.2 sensor with LED flash for better selfies even in low light.
Battery life on this device is impressive making it a great choice to carry around for a situation when you need to make urgent calls but your battery runs out. It supports 4G LTE for better calling and internet on the go. It has a 2600 mAh battery which is removable. It comes with all the necessary sensors like the Proximity sensor, accelerometer and GPS. It also has the 3.5mm headphone jack and FM radio.<
